The Marine Life Camp Experience: A Not Your Ordinary Weekend Dagat Experience
We are so lucky to live in a country that has very rich marine biodiversity. But despite the beauty and the benefit we get, we are failing to protect what is left. The Marine Life Camp is not your ordinary weekend travel getaway. This event will unleash your inner environmentalist as we teach you things about the oceans and how you can help be an Ocean Ambassador.” – Glen Mariano, the Pisces Project
The Cause of Destruction: Plastic
Did you know that over the last 50 years, the flesh-footed shearwater population has dropped by 30%. Plastic is a major cause of their decline. And the Philippines is no exemption in the growing ocean crisis in the world. The marine food that we eat now already contains plastic fragments. And if we continue these ongoing plastic practices, what is in store for the future generation?
Let’s Talk About Dagat
Marine Life Camp is a pioneer project of The Pisces Project that promotes biodiversity awareness through educational traveling. This camp aims to increase awareness of the participants on the importance of marine biodiversity and explore underwater life through snorkeling with proper marine life interaction.
Be An Ocean Ambassador
Through our combined effort, we can make a difference in protecting and conserving the marine life of the Philippines waters. Every little thing counts from practicing plastic-free living to upcycling materials to participating in events that help promote, protect and converse our natural resources.
By joining the Marine Life Camp you will have the opportunity to collaborate with other like-minded individuals who will be your co-ambassadors.
**I am not a good swimmer, can I still join the Marine Life Camp?
Yes, the camp is open to all interested individuals. We will give a short lecture and briefing about freediving, safety, and proper marine life interaction to provide you with a good underwater experience among participants.
Marine Life Camp is in partnership with The Pisces Project headed by Glen Mariano. It is an SEC Registered Youth empowered initiative in the Philippines dedicated to promoting marine biodiversity, conservation, and sustainable practices through education, responsible travel, and environmental projects.
Sounds good? Well, then let’s get started…
