Managing COVID-19 Stress

Here are some of the tips from World Health Organization on how to take care of yourself during this time of crisis.

Maybe you’re here because you want to cope up with the stress this COVID-19 Virus has given you. I bet you’re just as exhausted as me (before). We all know that since the year 2020 started, we’ve had so many challenges that we went through. I know that this will be over soon, but let us help you fight the stress.

So we’ve gathered some tips from World Health Organization on how to manage COVID-19 stress.

Hope this will help you and your family as well.

Take a break from the news

I did not stop reading or watching the news at all. It’s good that you know what is currently happening but avoid digging more about it, but make sure that the source is verified. Some media provides news-junky articles and videos just for the sake of views and website traffics. Avoid checking your smart phone every hour just to update yourself on the current situation of COVID-19. Reading the news can be quite addicting. You will never know what is really true. Our brain is wired to believe on the new things we see and ignore what we already know.

Take care of your body

A simple work out a home will do. Try watching zumba and Work out videos on youtube and allot 30 minutes a day for it. You can also do sit up, planking, push up and many more. Aside from working out, don’t forget to drink Vitamins everyday.

Here are 7 scientifically proven benefits of taking a vitamin C supplement according to healthline.com

  1. Can reduce your risk of chronic disease
  2. May help manage high blood pressure
  3. Can lower your risk of heart disease
  4. May reduce blood uric acid levels and help prevent gout attacks
  5. Helps prevent iron deficiency
  6. Boosts immunity
  7. Protects your memory and thinking as you age

It is important that you take care of your health not just to prevent yourself getting infected of the Coronavirus but also preventing other diseases what will make you go to the hospitals and clinics for check ups and confinement. It can be a reason of getting the virus by contracting with the nurses and doctors that are handling patients with COVID-19. Better be safe than sorry.

Make time to unwind

There are many things to do at home to keep you sane. Try to do things you’ve never done before. You can master your cooking skills by using the available veggies and meat on your fridge (try to mix and match but make sure that it is still edible). You can make dance or song covers if God has given you a talent. If not, then do it for fun. hahaha

If you love watching vlogs, why don’t you create your own channel and do make up tutorials, or house tour. You can also use time watching netflix series. I recommend Money Heist, Stranger Things, Crash Landing On you, Riverdale or Sex Education. Believe me, there are so so so many things to do at home!

Connect with Others

Aside from checking on the people you trust, check on the groups you belong to on Facebook and start a conversation, ask your Elementary, High School, Childhood friends and other family members how are they. Video call your family members abroad. It is a good time to have a meaningful conversation with them. It kills time and boredom.
