It’s been an exciting past two weeks here as we have been monitoring all contestants and their entries for our Febevermore Travel Giveaway photo contest, and we’ve talked about just some of the really great photos we received in our last update. But there can be only one who will receive a P3,000 Experience Philippines Gift Certificate that they can use on a Random Road Trip!

For the uninitiated, a Random Road Trip is a trip that Experience Philippines pioneered in the country where the destination is always a secret and the activities a surprise! Through it, we aim to take people out of their comfort zone, to experience some of the best secrets the Philippines has to offer, and to be able to travel differently.

So who won? Well, first of all, in true “Ms. Universe” fashion, here are the runners-up!

The Finalists

Laswitan Falls by Lanie Espejo

A waterfall created from Waves of the Pacific ocean. For a wandering, daring and thrill-seaking couple, Laswitan is the place to be. Who would’ve thought that amidst the town of Cortes, Surigao del Sur a magnificent lagoon was created. The journey to Laswitan was long and rough on unpaved road but with a very scenic higways that could distract you from being impatient and backing out. All your perseverance will pay off once you hear the waves coming like a drum roll and witness as it kiss the big boulders and hovers the sky for a second then back to the limestones as it forms like a waterfall going down straight to the lagoon. It will make you wait for the next batch of waves and go through the same feeling of overflowing excitement and joy. as the locals always say “thats what makes life in Laswitan sweet.”

Kiltepan Peak By Jennilyn Pequit
Watching sunrise is good but watching it in Kiltepan is way much better. The lovely sun emerged from the sea of clouds and its first rays broke through with indescribable wonder. Indeed a romantic place.

Mt. Maculot By Adelle Pauline Cortado
Hi, I just wanna share this photo of my boyfriend that I took when we last climbed Mt. Maculot. This was a pre-valentine climb. We are not the type of couple who likes to eat in a fancy restaurant. We rather spend quality time outdoors, exploring new places. My boyfriend is new to hiking so I brought him to Mt. Maculot as this mountain is a beginner-friendly. Going on a hike together may not sound romantic in the traditional sense. Unlike going to the beach or lounging by the pool, hiking doesn’t make us look very attractive from hours of walking along the trails, and and we are exhausted and our clothes are stinky. But it’s these times when we are at our most transparent, our most vulnerable, when we’ve gone through challenging physical and emotional experiences. Beyond the sense of teamwork and seeing stunning views, there’s will always be a pride in and love for the other person and their ability to achieve that makes it the climb much more beautiful and meaningful. Not to mention the effort the people involved exerted just to finish the goal.
